This is my first GP2X/SDL game. It may not be much, but it got my feet wet with this library, and set the foundations of the bigger things to come. Leave some feedback and enjoy.

I think this game has excellent potential.

The biggest suggestion I would have is to modify the game so that your “power” goes up by default.

That is, if you aren’t being hit by the abstract shapes (if you manage to fend them off), then your power should improve slightly.

This will allow the games to last much longer!

Also some kind of sound effects or soundtrack would also be welcome.

like i said over on the gp32x forums:

this game would be MUCH improved by implementing psymastr’s idea for controls, that would be the single most important change to make the game playbe and fun in it’s current state.

there are plenty of small tweaks that could make it more fun after that ;)

I don’t own a GP2X, but by the look of the screenshot it looks like it has a particle engine … :p … my guess is that that is implemented on libraries, it looks like a cool game, the objective seems to be to destroy or throw awaythe redish squares using the green beam… if is that the concept (i’ve only seen the picture here) it’s a quite nice idea ^^

Thanks for all the feedback (from the thread too).

I realize that the GP2X’s controls are not working well for this idea, so the next version will be different in that aspect – only one turret to control.
